There’s a lot of meh stuff bids going on here. I figure it’s just because we’re early and guys are trying to figure out what I value and what they can give up if they want to be competitive.

I still think I’m looking for quality over quantity. The Malkin/Hedman deal is a good example of that.

However, I don’t think a lot of what’s been offered here is really high quality. Patrick is. The dragons offer was too to some degree. Yamamoto is a nice piece. But there’s a lot of guys just trying to ditch a bunch of spare parts they couldn’t even start themselves or are borderline protects that I could find similar guys for much cheaper.

We don’t all have to value the players the same. I’m looking for guys that would work well with my team and timeline. Picks help me get that myself instead of waiting for others to offer it up. Just cuz I’m not a fan of a certain guy, doesn’t mean he’s not valuable ... he’s just not that valuable to me.

Anyway, there’s a few bids here. I’d say the Kilts lead because of those firsts. Ash could easily include much better picks if he was serious about putting Ovy & Sid together. Blake could easily pair Patrick with a really useable young guy like Ellis. Cudas have much more interesting players to me than Hoffman. There’s laughtsa hockey left here, and a lot of guys texting and emailing me. There’s no clock ticking here. It’s Tuesday. We’re working on it.

I'd still like to know how the Triads' 1st in 18 was valuable, but mine wasn't because it was too high (the Triads are ahead of me in the WG).

The more I think about it, the more I'm okay with not giving up a Vegas pick though. Wouldn't be quite as fun not having a first there...
