It is funny to hear Tony breakdown these prospects when he had two of the best in Petter and Makar just a few months ago.

Takeaway? He’ll trade a Patrick or Middlestadt or Juolevi before they ever get a run with the Heartbreakers.

And thus it will be interesting to really see what this winning bid actually becomes in the year/years that follow. Odds are Ovy gets moved for mehnuts.

Never said he didn't. I recall him taking a few games to heat up.

How’s Mittelstadt doing in college as a 19 year old this year?

Okay, the players Lorne offered here are down the line better than what I’ve been offered from other teams. And there’s a lot of them here ... great young guys to build around.

I tried to compare it with the other offers, but Hedman is worth more to me than Ovi, so adding him is a real kick in the pants.

Like, maybe Ovi is worth 2 or 3 of these guys ... and so is Hedman ...

So, I just can’t do this.

I’m not ready to trade Hedman.

If you want a lesser dman in a deal I will, or wanna make an offer for him separately I’ll look at it ... but, I love having Hedman. I can’t see moving him.

You guys know Casey can’t do a pull-up right?

Even Bjugstad could muster PPG in college.

...and in all seriousness that's a silly thing to focus on. And he can, indeed, do them.

From the Minnesota Star-Tribune:

Four months before his Gophers debut, Casey Mittelstadt created a stir at the NHL combine when he couldn’t do a pull up and managed just one rep in the 150-pound bench press exercise.

Gophers coaches rolled their eyes, convinced it would be a different story once the 18-year-old entered their strength program.

“Our strength coach noticed right away that his shoulder was a little out of alignment,” coach Don Lucia said. “He got him fixed with manipulation, and [Mittelstadt] was able to do a half-dozen [pull ups] right after that.”

Nolan Patrick, in the interest of full disclosure did 11 at the combine.

Hmph. Says here he led the tournament in points. Weird.

He tied with Necas, who's turning into quite a snipe for the Tycoons, too.
